How it’s extracted
Sea buckthorn seeds are ground to 1 mm and dried below 3% moisture, then extracted with supercritical CO₂ for 3 hours at 300 bar and below 50 °C. Ten kilos of seed yield one kilo of oil. The result is a whole-seed lipid extract — not a distillate or a blend of isolated fatty acids.
How to take it
2 softgels a day with a meal and some water. One pack (60 softgels) lasts 30 days. Keep out of reach of children.

Questions
What exactly did the study find?
In 86 patients with chronic coronary syndrome already on statin therapy, three months of 2 g daily was associated with a 37% reduction in CRP (p=0.032), a 12% reduction in LDL cholesterol (p=0.005) and a 2.9 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure (p=0.012). The full paper is open access.
Was this product tested, or just the ingredient?
The study product was the sea buckthorn seed lipid extract made by our supercritical CO₂ process, manufactured by us in a single standardised batch. The study used 2 × 1000 mg a day; a HIPPOCOR softgel contains 850 mg of oil plus added vitamin E, so the studied extract isn’t identical to the finished product.

Any side effects?
Tolerability was good overall. In the study, 3.5% of participants reported gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or dyspepsia. If you take blood thinners, talk to your doctor first.

How is HIPPOCOR different from NOVOMEGA?
